absent matter
Absent Matter is the concept that carries the work of Italian artist Edoardo Tresoldi. Through navigating the transparent wire mesh, the artist reflects in his work upon the presence and non-presence of objects while also creating an ongoing discussion on the lifespan of architecture. With Edoardo Tresoldi, infra has created a photo album to explore the artist’s work visually.

Edoardo Tresoldi (born 1987) is a Milan – based artist. He graduated from the Art Institute and then he moved to Rome to work in the field of cinema, sculpture, and stage design. He opened his studio in 2018 and has been producing installations since 2013. His projects appear globally in dialogue with public space – from archaeological sites to music venues. One of the upcoming projects is an art installation that will be realised, over the next two years, in the archaeological area of St. Peter, in the Old Town of Bari. The site constitutes a veritable palimpsest of centuries, telling with its stratification, from the Bronze Age to the second half of the 20th century, almost four thousand years of history.
